User Reviews

Reviews praise Eerie Worlds for rich lore, varied archetypes, and approachable card gameplay with a compelling collection focus. However, the majority of recurring criticisms center on AI-generated art, perceived pay-to-win monetization, and balance issues that favor certain decks. Players also report post-tutorial gameplay glitches, slow matchmaking, and uneven maintenance. Overall, it’s a strong, lore-driven card game for casual players, but its art choice, monetization model, and balance/delivery issues dampen long-term appeal.
Pros
  • Rich lore and mythological world-building across regions.
  • Solid, accessible card-battling mechanics with strategic depth for casual/mobile play.
  • Diverse card archetypes and unique playstyles within each color archetype.
  • Engaging collectible aspect with monsters and myths from around the world.
  • Casual-friendly gameplay that is easy to learn and quick to play.
Cons
  • AI-generated card art across all cards, which detracts from atmosphere and perceived quality.
  • Monetization and pay-to-win tendencies (boosters, cash grabs) that gate progression.
  • Balancing issues, with some cards being overpowered and casual play feeling unbalanced.
  • Gameplay glitches after tutorials (cards not landing on the board, timing issues) and slow matchmaking.
  • Maintenance/update problems or delayed updates that hinder ongoing play.

I really like CUE but this game was really disappointing especially considering literally every single card used ai art it would be better just to use online photos or hire an artist.

I think that the core of this game is really cool which is. What I have two stars for, but everything else needs work. For gameplay cards reduce in size to a small box when you play them and I can’t really see what’s going on with my cards let alone my opponent, leaves me sort of feeling like I’m just focusing on everything on my side and ignoring opponent. I also had to say that the cards are so AI generated that it really takes you out of the games atmosphere. There’s some rlly cool card design potential here, but so art is so impersonal

The company that created it is a good one, but unfortunately they used clearly Ai generated images for all the card arts at the minimum, so not worth supporting if you are concerned with the lack of human creativity and over reliance on Ai. If they actually switch to real created content it would be a very interesting game.
