The Chessnut hardware provides a great tactile, over-the-board chess experience.
The app supports multiple engines (including Maia) and even allows downloading engines on iOS.
The game-analysis features, including extracting recorded games from the board, are useful for reviewing OTB play.

Onboarding and sign-in problems, including verification codes, captcha, password recovery, and unresponsive support.
Online play limitations, inability to sign in and play on Chess.com or Lichess in some cases.
Bluetooth/firmware syncing glitches and moves not syncing properly with the board.
Stability issues and UI bugs such as crashes, puzzle glitches, and time control display problems.

Recent reviews

With LLM being readily available for dev, there is really no reason this app is so bad. Having to type in my SSID instead of scanning for WiFi on update. Being unable to connect my move to the internet. Baffling and honestly feels like a cash grab.
