User Reviews

Summary: Players praise the game’s engaging combat, accessible controls, and historical visuals, especially in sandbox battles. However, repeated requests highlight missing shield mechanics and formations (shield walls, Testudo), a desire for more units, factions, and maps for deeper strategy, and ongoing technical issues (bugs and lag) with at least one level reportedly unbeatable. Sandbox limitations and camera/zoom frustrations also surface. Overall, Legions of Rome 2 is fun and visually appealing but needs more content, better combat mechanics, and polish to reach its full potential.
Pros
  • Fun and engaging gameplay that’s easy to pick up and pass the time.
  • Good visuals and a convincing historical look for a medieval strategy game.
  • Easy-to-use controls with the ability to control a single soldier in first-person or side view.
  • Sandbox mode enables large battles and experimentation.
  • Nice level of detail appealing to history fans.
Cons
  • Shield mechanics are missing or not functioning as players expect (need shield to block arrows and form shield walls/Testudo).
  • Desire for more units, factions, maps, and deeper strategic options (e.g., cavalry, more varied maps, more factions).
  • Bugs and lag are common, with reports of at least one level being unwinnable/unbroken.
  • Sandbox tools are limited (desire to copy/paste/duplicate units for bigger battles) and formation options could be improved.
  • Camera/zoom limitations make it hard to view large maps.

Please add an update to the game. It’s been a very long time since there has been an update and I’ve been waiting a very long time for there to be an update and if you do actually update it, please add more strategy to the game make it so that you can split apart the units of your troops other than that this game is perfect. I love playing your games every single day. Thank you and keep it up.
