$250 annual fee which doesn’t get you access to any social events! The events are extra (averaging around $60ish). They do have network effects which is their moat (for now, there’s no reason you have to pay for that.) They do understand that people are starved for community and willing to pay for it - there’s a limit though to the grift level people are willing to tolerate on that end.

If you enjoy being censored at all times and a fan of 1984, this is a perfect place for you.

I think on the surface it looked like a genuine effort to build a community - but it is nothing more that a very poorly mismanaged cash grab. Overpriced events, all of your conversation is policed by the founder who is obsessive and incredibly rude, the app is complete trash it NEVER works properly. Horrific user experience and a complete disregard for the customer once they have secured your membership for a couple of hundred dollars.
