User Reviews

Users praise Luminar Neo for strong RAW editing, AI features, a favorable lifetime/multi-device model, and an easy-to-use UI. Recurrent concerns include unreliable erasing, billing/support problems, missing features (layers/masking, portrait tools), and UX issues like unlabeled mobile tools and post-update saving glitches. Overall, it’s powerful but stability, clarity, and feature completeness need improvement before broader subscription adoption.
Pros
  • Excellent, high-quality edits on RAW images with AI enhancements.
  • Lifetime ownership / cross-device perpetual license, avoiding ongoing subscriptions.
  • Intuitive, well-organized UI that is easy to use.
  • AI features are helpful and speed up editing.
  • Strong mobile app with cross-device syncing
Cons
  • Eraser tool bug causes erased areas to shift or degrade the image.
  • Billing issues: repeated charges after cancellation and poor or absent support for refunds.
  • Missing essential features like layers and masking; limited portrait editing tools.
  • Mobile UX lacks tool labels and descriptions, making it hard to learn.
  • Post-update workflow regressions: saving/exporting can create duplicates and some results require paying to download

They keep your images you send them for AI purposes,I’m assuming indefinitely since policy does not state any period otherwise. If you’re cool with them keeping your pictures for Ai changes on their servers then 5/5 stars Response June 16: Directly from your privacy policy: Data retention: Personal data (including uploaded content) is kept only as long as needed for the service, legal obligations, support, or disputes—typically tied to your subscription/account duration plus a limited period (e.g., up to 6 years post-subscription in some cases). And that’s doesn’t even include what the third parties retention policies are.

Way overpriced subscription garbage. There's far better free options.

Not any different than editor on iPhone. Quality is practically the same. Trying to remove any objects is terrible. Waste of $$
