User Reviews

Aurora Hills: Chapter 1 is lauded for its gorgeous visuals, moody park-setting, and polished puzzle design that echo Myst and Meridian 157. Players praise the atmospheric sound, mature storytelling, and the option to play without spending money. However, several reviews note inconsistent puzzle logic—some solutions feel arbitrary, with dragging mechanics and clues not always aligning. Frustrations mount over the long wait for Chapter 2 and the short chapter length, with fans eager for a release date and continuation. A few players also point to occasional device-specific issues and the desire for a clearer storyline that streamlines hints.
Pros
  • Stunning graphics and production design with a moody park setting.
  • Engaging, well-integrated puzzles that challenge players in a Myst-like style.
  • Atmospheric sound design and creepy mood that enhance immersion.
  • Playable without mandatory spending; first chapter is free and there are no ads.
  • Strong, mature storytelling vibe with a Meridian 157–style feel and promising continuation.
Cons
  • Puzzles can be illogical or non-intuitive; some solutions feel arbitrary, with dragging interactions that aren’t clearly explained.
  • Chapter 2 release is repeatedly delayed; players are waiting long for the next episode.
  • Chapters feel short; overall content is shorter than expected.
  • Some puzzles have little to no connection to the clues, making progress feel unclear.

The game started out fine but when I find tools or clues they don’t work. There are no hints. The navigation is frustrating. This should be fun but going through the same half dozen rooms with no instructions or clues and no results is frustrating. A waste of time.

I love the game and love more that the setting is in West Virginia! I’ve lived here my whole life and it’s such a beautiful state. I’m curious if the writer of the game is from WV? This game is entertaining and enjoyable. It can be played independently or with your family. I like how the hint icon helped so much in guiding me. If not I would have probably gotten fed up . I can’t wait to play the next chapter!
