User Reviews
Pros
- Higher earnings potential for drivers compared to other platforms (notably in some regions).
- Strong referral program with potential for passive income from referrals.
- Generally reliable app performance with ongoing updates and improvements (slick interface, payouts).
- Transparent earnings tracking and clear visibility of referrals/payments.
Cons
- Registration/phone number validation and sign-up issues that prevent onboarding (multiple reports of being unable to register).
- Regulatory/insurance concerns: drivers may pay for background checks, questions about commercial insurance and licensing, and perceived misalignment with regulations.
- Limited regional availability and delays in expansion to new areas ( Detroit, etc.).
- Account access and support issues (security concerns like someone else logged in; mixed responsiveness from support).
Recent reviews
I downloaded your app and spent some time reading both the driver reviews and your team's responses.
I can see that your company is real, and I sincerely hope you succeed.
I have been driving for Uber for 10 years and for Lyft for nearly 10 years, so I have seen many changes in this industry.
A few years ago, another rideshare company called Y Driver appeared. It also promoted a driver-friendly vision and promised to treat drivers better than Uber and Lyft. Unfortunately, it did not survive.
I strongly encourage your team to study why Y Driver failed. As someone who has been driving in this industry for nearly a decade, I'm concerned that your company may be repeating some of the same mistakes that caused Y Driver to fail.
Having a great mission and treating drivers fairly are important, but they are not enough to build a sustainable rideshare platform.
The real questions are:
• Can you attract enough passengers?
• Can you keep enough active drivers?
• Can you generate enough trips every day?
• Can you build a business model that can survive for many years?
Drivers don't need another company with a great slogan. Drivers need a company that is still here five or ten years from now.
If Fare Co-op succeeds, drivers win. If Fare Co-op fails, drivers lose another choice.
I'm writing this because I genuinely want you to succeed, not because I want to criticize you. Please learn from the companies that came before you, avoid repeating the same mistakes, and build something that can truly last.
Good luck.
