H4essential Control is an app that enables wireless control of the ZOOM H4essential Handy Recorder. An iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch can be used as a remote control for an H4essential. In addition to the fundamental operations of starting/stopping recording/playback and searching forward/backward, this app can be used to add marks and to set various parameters. The app can also be used to check the waveforms of input signals and the remaining battery charge as well as to monitor the remaining recording time.

Note: A BTA-1 wireless adapter is necessary to operate an H4essential with H4essential Control.

…as long as you don’t expect to much from it. I just use it to start & stop record, and playback. A little mixing. I haven’t had any of the issues others have had, but I’m no super-user by any means. Now, If I could just get rid of that hum from input devices…🤔

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Connected to the H4 Essential recorder just once. Has not worked since. Without Bluetooth connectivity I have no use for this device so I will be returning it.

I’m able to connect to the Bluetooth adapter and start/stop the recording and monitor levels. But the app disconnects very quickly, if you move just a few feet away or exit the app. Then you have to set up the connection on the recorder again. It would be a useful app if it maintained its connection like any other Bluetooth device.
