User Reviews

Timeleft enables in-person meetups to form new friendships through restaurant gatherings. Many users praise the concept and social benefits, especially for newcomers. However, the app is plagued by coordination problems (no-shows and late starts), pricing concerns (subscription costs and pricey venues), and frequent bugs affecting usability. Some reviews also point to group composition biases (more women, or women-only dinners) that can deter certain users. Overall, the idea is appealing, but execution and pricing hinder reliability.
Pros
  • Helps users meet new people and make friends in real life.
  • Offers social dining experiences at a variety of restaurants.
  • Helpful for people who are new to a city, helping them build a social circle.
  • Encourages casual, no-strings-attached social interactions rather than dating.
Cons
  • Event coordination is often poor, with no-shows, mis-timed starts, and groups failing to gather.
  • Pricing and subscription model are opaque, with recurring charges after cancellation and expensive restaurant options.
  • The app has frequent bugs and performance issues (delays, freezes, sending/receiving messages problems).
  • Group demographics can feel skewed (e.g., more women in groups or women-only dinners), which can be uncomfortable for some users.

Right off the bat this comes off as a blind date app. It would be cool if there was some sort of online socialization to this.

First of all, you have to pay just to see if attending an event is worth the time. Second, the options are extremely limited. I can’t do coffee at 10 am, I have a job. I can’t do dinner at 7 on Wednesday, I have a child. And on Saturdays the only option is tuning in the morning? No coffee? No lunch? No other activities like museum visits? Also everything is only available in SoHo and the West Village… what? This app is for a very small group of people living in New York. No wonder events have low attendance. Deleted after just a few minutes.
