User Reviews

Overall, users praise FileCloud as a reliable, enterprise-like solution for on-the-go access, sharing, and offline file availability, with strong support. The main recurring concerns are stability after updates, occasional crashes on iOS devices, and usability gaps such as background audio playback not working, a clunky upload workflow, and limited file previews. Users also want larger thumbnails and better preview options, and some report PDF rendering issues. Despite these, many users commend easy sharing, multiple-account support, and the app’s central repository feel, along with responsive vendor support and ongoing improvements.
Pros
  • Reliable and enterprise-like for on-the-go access and sharing
  • Offline access: download files for offline use
  • Multi-account support within a single app
  • Easy sharing via links and straightforward sharing workflow
  • Strong vendor support and ongoing improvements
Cons
  • Crashes after updates on iPhone/iPad; stability issues
  • Background audio playback stops when the screen sleeps; no true background audio
  • Upload workflow is awkward; must open with to a local folder before final destination
  • Limited previews/thumbnail options; desire larger thumbnails and more preview options
  • PDF rendering issues: blank PDFs or crashes when opening PDFs

I’ve been using FileCloud for a long time and overall it works well. However, one feature that used to work has been missing for quite some time. In the past, when playing audio files like MP3 or WAV, playback would continue even if the phone screen went to sleep. That functionality hasn’t been available in a long time, and it’s noticeably impacted usability. Now, as soon as the screen turns off, the audio stops. This makes it difficult to listen to recordings or longer audio files without keeping the screen awake the entire time. The native iOS Files app supports background audio playback without any issues, so it’s disappointing that this still hasn’t been restored in FileCloud. I really hope a future update brings this feature back.

Love the iphone app, but could be tweeked a bit. The picture previews thumbnails could be bigger, like onecloud or Mega. The phone picture backup status could be available like in the old version to know if its actually working or not.
