User Reviews

Most reviews highlight the game’s visuals, initial fun, and mission variety, plus non-intrusive monetization. However, players repeatedly cite slow progression due to timers and long repairs, paywalls blocking advancement, limited depth (no formations or strong customization), and cloud-save/sync issues across devices. Several note early-game difficulty spikes that hinder progress. Overall, Sol Frontiers looks promising and engaging at first, but pacing, gating, and save problems undermine long-term play.
Pros
  • Visually appealing graphics and art style.
  • Early, engaging gameplay and fun in the first minutes.
  • Mission variety and multiple ways to approach objectives.
  • Positive sentiment toward the developers and the game's design.
  • Ads are non-invasive and not overly disruptive.
Cons
  • Progression is extremely slow and gated by timers, with long wait times for repairs.
  • Paywalls and resource gating make advancement rely on spending money.
  • Lack of depth: no battle formations, limited customization, and unmodifiable base.
  • Saving progress across devices is broken or unclear; cloud save/login issues.
  • Early-game difficulty is too high, with enemies having too much health relative to your ships, making progress frustrating.
Recent reviews
It’s fun for a few second occasionally. Progression is almost non-existent. Not much to do except wait for fleet to repair (now 25 minutes at this point, increases as you go along), then fight a battle (maybe 3-5 minutes), and wait again. Not many enemies return to previous fighting grounds, so no grinding easy targets or easy entertainment. Economy is funky; tough to get what you need for resources, and the other resources that are plentiful have their role but are not really useful. Will see when this gets too boring.
