Review summary

Users praise Lolo for fast, chat/voice logging and auto macro tracking, plus AR/barcode scanning. However, frequent criticisms focus on a paywall that blocks use, inability to log past days or access history, Apple-only sign-in, limited nutrition data, and onboarding/navigation issues.
Pros
  • Chat/voice-based logging makes input quick and easy, reducing taps and decision fatigue.
  • Auto-populated nutrition data with macros, and ability to adjust entries.
  • AR scanning and barcode capabilities help populate data from labels quickly.
  • Overall ease of use and a conversational UI that feels like texting a friend.
  • Efficient, quick daily tracking compared with traditional food trackers.
Cons
  • Paywall/subscription gating blocks core usage and is perceived as expensive.
  • Cannot log or edit meals for previous days and lacks long-term history or stats.
  • Sign-in via Apple ID only or forced Apple sign-in.
  • Nutrition data is limited to calories, protein, fat, and carbs, with little micronutrient detail and occasional AI corrections needed.
  • Discoverability and onboarding can be confusing or hard to navigate.

2025-10-05 He***** made me log in with apple then made me hand type answers just to shove a subscription in my face (you can’t use the app without it). if u want people to pay make the app cost money dont waste my time.

2025-08-28 Ae***** Lolo is seriously incredible! Eat some food, tell Lolo what you ate, and the data populates after some semi-brief thinking. It’s fairly accurate too, with most items being spot on with their nutritional data. And if the data needs adjustment, Lolo can provide that as well. You can create, edit, and delete logs just by telling Lolo what you want done to ensure that your logs are as accurate as possible. Lolo is also great for its AR scanning capabilities, where it can instantly populate data from a nutrition label after just a few seconds of scanning. If you’re in the need for a fast and easy Calorie tracker that is also accurate, then Lolo is the way to go!

2024-11-25 Re***** I think that the app is pretty intuitive but I think that it could have more potential. Number one you need to be able to go back and add to the previous day if you missed something. It will not let you go back and edit or add to a previous day. I also think it would be very helpful if it would let you put in a image to show your tracking from your weight loss app. This would be information that would just be for you and not for the bot. It just would be handy to keep it all in one place. Other than that it is a pretty cool app. AI has come a long way. TY

2024-11-22 pt***** What is there not to love about Lolo! I logged 6 ounces of Kroger’s CarbMaster yogurt and Lolo added it to my food log . It is so nice to have Lolo keep up with how much protein, fat and carbohydrates without me having to do it manually!

2024-11-22 Ma***** So you write or speak what food you would like to enter, the AI responds by entering some generic version of what you said. Then you find yourself correcting the entry, all via chat. If you want a more accurate entry you need to use the barcode feature, then it really becomes like any other food tracking app out there. Except this one does not offer anything more that calories, protein, fat and carbs. If you are interested in knowing your micros intake, use a different app.

2024-11-22 Na***** It has potential in concept, but the execution so far didn't go very far. It only lets you track the current day, there's no way to add something you might have forgotten to the previous day, and there's no button for accessing any sorts of stats of how you've been doing over time in terms of nutrition / calories or food habits day by day. You're limited to tracking calories for the current day and that's about it, you also have to just trust that the bot really understood the ingredient breakdown as well, since you only get a view of the main dish name (for example, poke, but the ingredients in poke may vary immensely and naturally have very diffetent calories depending on what was included). If you're even using a chatbot, it would also be nice to be able to submit suggestions from within the app instead of having to send an email. Might be a good app once it evolves but for now it's not offering much for those who actually need statistics over time.
