Review summary

The Soft App is praised for creating a supportive, intersectional space for neurodivergent/autistic people with a calming vibe, thoughtful resources, and a community-driven ethos. Users appreciate meditations, body-doubling, and regulation tools, as well as feeling seen and understood. However, concerns about heavy subscription gating, limited engagement due to a small user base, and the limited value of the free tier temper enthusiasm. Overall, it’s valued for belonging and care but hindered by accessibility and scale issues.
Pros
  • Strong sense of community and belonging for neurodivergent/autistic people; users feel seen, heard, and supported.
  • Thoughtful resources and features, including meditations, daily check-ins, regulation tools, curated content, and a body-doubling Zoom room.
  • Calming, welcoming atmosphere and vibe that many users describe as soothing and safe.
  • Accessible for free users to some extent; app is designed for ND folks and is navigable without paying.
  • Community-driven, authentic—'made for us by us' with knowledgeable, genuine guides who feel understood.
Cons
  • Premium subscription gating reduces accessibility; core features are behind a paid plan and the price (around $10/month) is not affordable for many users.
  • Limited community activity; not enough members or engagement in chats, which can make paying for access feel like poor value.
  • Free tier offers limited functionality; users report being unable to chat or access most features without subscribing.

2025-07-04 Vi***** I was excited to see how this app could connect me to others that might understand me and help me learn and connect. There is very little you can access on this app without a monthly subscription, and $10 is not affordable to me at all. I will keep looking for a chat app or space to connect with others.

2025-06-05 Su***** I love that there is an entire app dedicated to individual like myself; it is very freeing and comforting to have a place of belonging.

2025-05-18 Lo***** I enjoy the concept of the app but I don’t feel there’s a lot of non-ableist support for autistics who are also comorbid with other mental illnesses, such as personality disorders. I do feel the creator has some ableist views surrounding people with NPD and airs on the side of stigmatizing this disorder. Unfortunately that leaves a lot of mentally ill neurodivergent people like myself feeling like I am not welcome in this space. I would like to discuss the intersections of autism and personality disorders in a more open way, but that isn’t possible when these disorders are openly demonized.
