User Reviews

NeoServer is praised for its feature-rich SSH terminal, strong monitoring tools, a generous free tier, and a one-time purchase. Users value tmux support, saved scripts, and cross-device syncing. Downsides include unstable connections and slow remote data loading on some servers, macOS UI/UX and compatibility gaps, missing features, pricing concerns, and occasional crashes. Overall, it’s a powerful, value-focused app that benefits from stability and Mac-specific polish.
Pros
  • Highly feature-rich SSH client with extensive capabilities (tmux support, saved scripts, broad SSH/terminal features)
  • Excellent value: one-time lifetime license with a strong free tier
  • Reliable and well-designed, with a solid monitoring/management experience
  • Strong server monitoring capabilities and visually appealing UI across devices
  • No ads in the free version and generous feature availability without mandatory upgrades
Cons
  • Unstable connections and slow remote data loading on certain servers (e.g., unRaid)
  • macOS/Mac terminal experience and compatibility issues (ux flaws, small font, retina rendering, Orbstack compatibility)
  • UI/UX limitations and missing features (no password prompt on iPad, cannot resize metric cards, can’t delete default server, mounted drive visibility)
  • Pricing and platform support concerns (Mac version abandonment, perceived overpricing vs competitors)
  • Occasional crashes or stability issues

So useful for easy access to terminal on my server. Once it’s all set up, it’s so easy to just start a coding agent session and have it build on my machine remotely. I use tailscale plus this app and I can do so much from my phone. Really improved UI and so convenient. Highly recommend!

I recently had to update the app recently and it forces strict access into the server through a tmux session which restricts being able to open a an existing session. Is it possible to restore the previous behavior that allows you login to the root server?
