Review summary

Review consensus: Limbus Company offers a gripping, story-forward experience with cinematic presentation, strong soundtrack, and generous, non-predatory gacha that provides regular freebies. The turn-based combat is engaging, especially on mobile. However, instability on mobile—crashes—and large storage demands from updates are common complaints. Some players also find it difficult to obtain their preferred characters despite the generally fair gacha. Overall it's story-forward and engaging, but stability and optimization need attention.
Pros
  • Engaging story-driven gameplay with cinematic writing and lore.
  • Excellent soundtrack and high-quality presentation/animations.
  • Reasonable, player-friendly gacha with regular freebies and currency from updates.
  • Mobile-friendly and accessible, with strong cross-device appeal.
  • Deep combat with strategic gimmicks and status effects.
Cons
  • Frequent stability issues on mobile, including crashes during rounds, boss fights, and menus.
  • High storage requirements from updates, which can cause performance problems on some devices.
  • Gacha can be hard if you're trying to pull specific characters.

2026-08-22 An***** The mobile performance has been terrible lately, and I haven’t been able to play MD or pull anyone for a while now on my device due to the constant crashing that happens whenever I try to do anything. If you actually want to play reliably, just go for the PC port - mobile’s only really good for keeping up with dailies and free Lunacy for the moment, at least from my perspective.

2026-08-22 St***** So the game in general is fun, but the only thing that holds me back from completing the canto’s is the fact that I’m mobile, and every time I win a battle, it sometimes crashes, and when it crashes it doesn’t count as me beating the level, so I’m just stuck on canto 3.5, even when I turned off post processing, had low graphics, it didn’t work and was still crashing. I’m not sure if it’s my fault or the project moon team but I’d love if it was fixed.

2026-08-20 ……***** Why in the hell do you put a “save progress” button to remove the units you were using. I now have to restart the lei heng fight because of your terrible word choices and the fact that you don’t add any post game methods to getting lunacy other than unfair bosses, the same experience for the 1800th time(mirror dungeons), or P2W. Please make your game more fun to play after the end of it.

2026-08-20 th***** Honestly, love everything besides canto 1,2, and 4 (ill get to why). everything else is absolutely magnificent, down to the intervallos. Things that are lacking are the art machine thingies that (HUGE SPOILER) Calisto made. The skill 3’s do ridiculously high amounts of damage for just an average enemy. My issues with Cantos 1, 2 and 4, are the gameplays issues. Don’t get me wrong I love the little bug guy personally, I just feel as if they need quality updates. Something more refurbished, even.
