User Reviews

Reviewers praise the concept of a portable breadboard simulator for learning electronics, but recurring issues hurt usability: frequent crashes; a clunky UI that makes placing and editing components difficult; an incomplete component library (missing LEDs, switches, transistors, etc.); limited zoom/view that prevents seeing the whole breadboard; and circuit-saving issues where layouts disappear or don’t persist. Despite the potential, the app remains unusable for many, though longtime users see value and potential with improvements like tutorials, more components, and a smoother UI.
Pros
  • Innovative breadboard simulator designed for iPad, enabling on-the-go electronics practice.
  • Helpful for learning and experimenting with circuits without a computer.
  • Long-term users praise the concept and see potential despite current issues.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and instability across devices and features (e.g., starting new boards or using the oscilloscope).
  • Inadequate UI/UX: cannot rotate or move components easily; no usable toolbox; difficult to place or edit parts.
  • Incomplete component library (missing LEDs, switches, transistors; limited or empty chip library).
  • View/zoom limitations: cannot see the whole breadboard; zoom out is restricted and default view is overly zoomed-in.
  • Saving/persistence issues: circuits disappear or fail to persist when revisiting/editing; edits aren’t reliably saved.

It's a virtual breadboard that works on iPads. A breadboard is smaller than an iPad, so I would expect there to be a view that lets you see the whole breadboard. Not the case here. The farthest you can zoom out is '100%' but that shows you less than half of the breadboard. You can see 26 pins of a 60-pin breadboard on a 13" iPad. The pins are 0.1" apart. So you're zoomed in on a 2.6" view of a 6" breadboad. And you can't zoom out any farther to see more of the breadboard. But you can zoom in even more if you want things bigger! You can zoom in to 250% and then you're only seeing a 1" section of the breadboard. Probably a great app for people with serious vision problems!

There is no component toolbox, so I can’t even get started.

The UI is horrid. Unable to rotate parts after placement, unable to move start/end, and basically everything about the UI is garbage.
