Features & Capabilities

iCircuit is the premier iPhone and iPad app for designing, simulating, and learning analog and digital electronics. Its real-time, always-on analysis keeps circuits powered and live, so you can explore designs without pausing to measure or export reports.

With a library of 300+ components—including programmable Arduinos (Uno, Nano, Mega, ESP8266, ESP32), PIC microcontrollers, and 60 4000/7400-series digital ICs—plus built-in test gear (multimeter, oscilloscope, gauges, signal generators), you can prototype and verify ideas quickly. Create sub-circuits, share custom elements via the Gallery, and even enjoy audio simulation. iCircuit Pro adds more components and libraries and is optional. Ideal for students, hobbyists, and engineers validating designs.

User Reviews

iCircuit is praised for its depth and usefulness for learning and on-the-go prototyping, with solid core functionality. However, it is repeatedly flagged for severe bugs, unstable UX, unreliable undo/save, inconsistent controls, poor pencil support, and a price/subscription model that gates features. Overall, it remains a strong concept for mobile circuit work but is hampered by reliability and pricing concerns.
Pros
  • Powerful circuit simulation with many features
  • Great for learning and rapid prototyping on the go
  • Useful for education and tinkering; helps quick testing
  • Core functionality is present and usable for mobile circuit work
  • Perceived as user-friendly and handy for on-device work
Cons
  • Widespread bugs and instability affecting core workflow
  • Unreliable undo/redo and saving leading to lost work
  • Inconsistent UI/UX: erratic menus, zoom, scroll, and labeling
  • Poor Apple Pencil support and touch input issues
  • Subscription model and high price gate features or content

I would pay for the pro. But honestly, even the small list of components isn’t worth it. It’s missing so much. Paying monthly/annually isn’t worth the money. I want to see prolong degradation of circuits and overheating. I want to know if my design will fail. So much potential but not worth paying for.

I am leaving this 1 until you fix your lasso selection bug. It’s impossible to highlight certain components
