User Reviews

Users praise Stark Dumbbell for its clean UI, easy setup, and beginner-friendly structure with varied, well-illustrated exercises and customizable routines. Repeated drawbacks include video playback/crashes, lack of weight-tracking and custom exercises, a limited exercise library, and perceived low value for the $4.99 price. Some users also request features like voice cues and randomization to enhance workouts.
Pros
  • Easy to set up and use; clean, straightforward UI.
  • Well-illustrated exercises with a wide range of options and good workout variety.
  • Great for beginners; provides structure, motivation, and customization.
  • Flexible routine creation (time or reps, Tabata) and ability to build your own workouts.
  • Works well at home or in the gym and keeps users engaged.
Cons
  • Video playback/download failures and crashes (videos won’t download, none work, crashes when starting).
  • No option to track weight or add custom exercises (limited customization).
  • Limited exercise library; users want more moves and basic exercises.
  • Perceived poor value for money; many feel $4.99 is not justified by features.
  • Requests for additional features like voice narration and randomized workouts.

So it looks clean. Setting up workouts is not hard, and I like that you can set time or reps However - that is where the good ends What is the most basic need in a dumbbell program? Probably tracking weight. I cannot seem to find it, but it is so fundamental I must be missing it. Also, there is no way to add your own exercises, so you cannot add something even as basic as push-ups or pull ups to your routine. A good foundation, but looking at the age of this app - if these basics have not been added yet, they probably never will be
