Recurring issues include login/logout instability and MFA friction, Plaid-related privacy concerns with deposits, slow mobile performance and cumbersome trade flows, inactivity fees with withdrawal hurdles, and onboarding/support problems plus missing features on iOS. The desktop experience is the strongest, while the mobile app shows improvement but remains plagued by glitches and reliability concerns.

Pros

The desktop version is by far my favorite.
The mobile version is getting better and more usable for trading.
Some reviewers still find the app solid for trading despite ongoing issues.

Cons

Frequent login/logout problems and MFA prompts disrupt trading sessions.
Deposits are limited to Plaid/ACH options, with privacy concerns about sharing banking history.
Mobile performance is slow and clunky, with multiple steps to place or update trades and several UI glitches.
Inactivity fees and withdrawal restrictions, including forced liquidations, have caused significant losses for some users.
Onboarding and customer support are often problematic, with reports of poor guidance and slow responses, and some missing features (e.g., options trading on iOS).

Recent reviews

Also freezes every time I try to link a bank account. The app hides the UI when I go out of the app to get a verification code, and the app is stuck on hidden UI mode when coming back. Super lame. Obviously they don't want money! TradeStation has no alternative for deposits other than via Plaid, which will release YOUR ENTIRE BANKING HISTORY (each and every transaction, everything you have ever done in your bank) to third parties. The only way to use the app is via this HUGE privacy violation, or via an expensive wire transfer. They do not accept any other deposit options. This is totally unacceptable and I will not be able to try the app because of it.

Literally will freeze, in the middle of a trade. Today there was a bearish gap on the Spy, I couldn’t even buy a put contract, because the options chart was not visible. If I could post pictures I would. This is not a platform for serious traders.

This might be the worst app I’ve ever used. It won’t log in because safari says that the website address is invalid. Once I finally get logged in, any swipe down logs me out again. This app is TERRIBLE for iOS and helped me make up my mind not to transfer any other accounts to TradeStation.
