User Reviews

Overall, users describe thinkorswim for iOS as having potential thanks to a broad set of indicators and some value like free CNBC streaming, and it can be suitable for brand-new investors. However, the app is repeatedly criticized for stability issues, slow performance, buggy charts, and a clunky UI. Mobile trading is limited or requires calling in, with frequent login problems and feature parity gaps with the desktop. Many blame Schwab's takeover for a decline in quality and user experience, making active traders seek alternatives.
Pros
  • Ton of indicators available, which is helpful for technical traders.
  • Free CNBC streaming.
  • Works for brand-new investors.
Cons
  • Frequent bugs, glitches, and slow performance (ghost bars, unreliable alerts, chart issues).
  • Unintuitive, clunky UI that makes mobile trading hard to use.
  • Limited mobile trading capabilities; often cannot place trades from the app and parity with desktop is lacking.
  • Frequent login/access issues (login unavailable, timeouts).
  • Schwab takeover associated declines: higher fees/restrictions and reduced feature quality.

My phone is not compatible for the latest iOS update and now I cannot use the app. This is not OK! Do something.

Thinkorswim works very well on the desktop platform, and I have had a good experience using it on my computer. Unfortunately, the iPad app is currently unusable for me because it will not allow me to log in. Every time I try, I receive a message saying that I must update to the latest version of the app, but this prevents access altogether. The desktop version performs great, but the iPad app needs attention so users can log in and trade without issues.
