User Reviews

Users largely praise the app for its ease of use, real 10-key feel, and useful tape/history feature, with strong value in the free version. However, multiple reviews flag stability problems (crashes and freezes) and note that the lite version is heavily limited and ad-supported, while some desired advanced features (automatic cents, multi-tax options) are missing. Overall, it’s a solid tool when stable and fully utilized, but drawbacks mainly center on ads, line limits, and feature gaps.
Pros
  • Easy to use and intuitive with multiple functions, including line writing.
  • Feels like a real 10-key adding machine, which is familiar for bookkeeping tasks.
  • Tape/history feature lets you review and edit calculations for accuracy.
  • Free version is highly valued and considered strong/long-lasting for ongoing use.
  • Ads are not overly intrusive in the user experience.
Cons
  • Ads in the lite/free version can be intrusive, occupying screen space and keys—especially on iPhone.
  • Lite version is limited to a small number of lines (40) and requires upgrading for more lines and screen space.
  • Stability issues include crashes, data loss, and freezes after iOS updates.
  • Missing advanced features such as automatic cents, multiple tax rates, and the ability to deselect tax items.
Recent reviews
Lacks ability to set automatic cents. Lacks two sales tax rates or ability to deselect items from tax.

The lite version only has 40 lines. If you need to add a cash drawer and reference your deposit, you’re going to need the extra lines. Also the ads take up a lot of the printing calculator keys and make it difficult to quickly enter amounts. If you’re using an iPad I don’t think the ads will bother you much. But, on an iPhone the ads take up valuable screen space. If you have a later iPhone keep in mind that that app does not include the screen space provided by the notch, and the keys don’t go all the way to the bottom. Keys are way too small on the lite version to do long inputs. The paid version does provide more screen space and up to 400 lines, so just pay the $3 to save yourself the effort.

This app works the same way as an adding machine, which is what is used in bookkeeping and what I prefer. Thanks for taking the aggravation out of balancing my checkbook,(which I don’t think anyone but I do anymore.)
