Features & Capabilities

WikEM is an emergency medicine knowledge base: an online wiki and database to assist physicians with daily practice. The content is continuously updated from WikEM.org and is available offline via the mobile app. WikEM is intended for clinicians only and not directly for patients.

Key features include offline access for rapid reference, AI-powered natural language queries unlocked via in-app subscriptions, and support for favorites and history. Subscriptions are billed through the App Store and auto-renewal can be managed in Account Settings. For full terms and conditions, see wikem.org/wiki/WikEM:Terms_of_Use.

User Reviews

Users generally value WikEM’s content—essential, centralized emergency medicine reference, useful on the job and for quick pharmacology lookups. However, sentiment is dominated by frustration with the move to the Eolas platform: a disruptive migration that many find non-user-friendly and that erases or complicates favorites and account linking. Additional widespread issues include login/account creation glitches, random crashes on iPhone, unreliable favorites, and broken search after updates. Content remains strong, but the new platform and stability issues undermine usability.
Pros
  • Essential, centralized emergency medicine reference content.
  • Great on-shift resource / handy in the field.
  • The standalone app back after the EOLAS transition is appreciated.
  • Pharmacology content is helpful for quick questions.
Cons
  • Migration to the Eolas platform resulted in a non-user-friendly experience with loss of features (e.g., favorites) and compatibility problems.
  • Login and account creation problems are widespread, including glitches, timeouts, and internal errors.
  • Crashes and random quitting on iPhone reduce reliability.
  • Favorites feature does not save or add properly (stars fail or load indefinitely).
  • Search functionality broken or unreliable after updates (incorrect results, missing options).

Tab bar could really benifit from being cleaned up to 4, personal reccs would be: - Option to hide AI tab - Videos in Library tab - Home should be Categories, with the first category “View All,” Search bar at the bottom/top of page - Info renamed to “Settings” - Blog shows only most recent article, tapping shows more - Liquid Glass UI elements Really appreciate one time purchases > subscriptions. Otherwise stoked the app is back, content is phenomenal but I hope the UI continues to modernize in the future

So glad the stand alone app is back.

I really loved the APP before they transitioned to EOLAS. They brought it back which is really good but the app is now glitchy and crashes on its own on IPHONE. Please fix the issues and I would be more than happy to buy it again. Has so much potential.
