User Reviews

The Link app shows potential by enabling MFD pairing and remote screen mirroring, and it supports trip planning and cross-brand usage. But reviewers consistently report major reliability problems: loss of full-screen viewing, unstable connections, login errors, device compatibility gaps, crashes, and data-transfer issues. Overall, it’s a promising concept hampered by persistent usability and compatibility defects across updates.
Pros
  • Occasional successful pairing with boat MFDs (e.g., Simrad GO9) when connection holds.
  • Screen mirroring/remote viewing of the MFD on iPad/iPhone is a core feature reviewers value when it works.
  • Trip planning and waypoint management are part of the app's functionality (preplanning trips, adding waypoints).
  • Cross-brand intent with Zeus/HDS Live/Vulcan support is mentioned as a broader compatibility goal.
Cons
  • Full-screen mode is broken or removed, with the app running in a small window and limited panning/zooming.
  • Frequent connection drops, instability, and lag make the app unreliable in real use.
  • Login/authentication problems persist (incorrect password messages despite correct credentials).
  • Compatibility gaps with Zeus2/Zeus3 and other brands lead to outages or forced upgrades.
  • Crashes, freezes, and data-transfer/save issues undermine reliability.

I’ve been able to pair the app to my Simrad GO9 a couple of times and everything worked pretty well. However, I’ve never been able to save any trip info, waypoints, etc. to the app for viewing at home. In fact, at home I can’t even get it (the app) to bring up ANY information. Lately, every time I try to connect to my on-board Simrad the app says my password is incorrect - IT’S NOT! Can’t even connect. Will delete this app and am searching for a better one.

Installed this on a new iPad to mirror my HDS Live unit in the back of the boat and the screen mirroring seems to be lower resolution, the transfer button won’t upload my recorded data to C-MAP Genesis, keeps saying “Can’t Login” “Check username and password” yet I can login on the website just fine. Been like this end of summer and now fall. A bit frustrating.

Not sure what happened with the newer version but now I can’t connect to share my Zeus screen.
