User Reviews
Pros
- Easy access to the Daily Office readings and the lessons of the day.
- Clear, easy-to-use menu/interface in the latest updates.
- Useful for in-church use and pastoral visits (hospital calls).
- Valuable content for Anglican liturgy; many users find it worthwhile despite price.
Cons
- Subscription pricing/model is expensive and controversial.
- Reliability issues: frequent crashes, blank pages, and content not loading; updates slow or missing.
- Missing/inaccessible BCP content after subscription (e.g., LFF background blurbs, ordination content, EOW); in-app purchases often not functioning.
- Accessibility/formatting problems: small, fixed text size; inability to zoom; dark mode incompatibility.
- Calendar/date alignment and update delays: feast days misaligned; next-year updates often late.

I have used this app for a number of years. I find it to be a good app for finding the lessons of the day and going directly to them, but there are several issues. 1st - if i am leading worship from the eCP, I really need to know the page numbers to tell the congregants who are following in the BCP. It would be helpful to be able to enlarge the print for my aging eyes. 2nd - I really like that the collect and lessons are given for the Lesser Feasts and Fasts days, but I would really like to have the background blurb for the saints given so I don’t have to bring along the hard copy to share the information if I’m leading a service for others. 3rd - in this last update, when you go to the lessons, or other prayers and return to the main service, it throws you back to the beginning of the service instead of returning you to the place you were, making you have to spend time finding your place again.

I start my day with eCP by reading the Daily Office readings. I find that by doing that first thing, I actually DO IT - rather than thinking I’ll find a quiet time soon. (Hint: I take a few pills in the morning as many of us do. The last of those is a vitamin B-12 lozenge which dissolves under the tongue. I read my Daily Office as the B-12 is absorbed — so my brain is being fed in two ways at the same time.
I also use eCP in church to follow the readings. The small annual subscription fee is a nit! This is well worth the cost and we don’t really expect people to develop and maintain the service for nothing, do we?
Highly recommended (in case you didn’t notice!) 👍

Opening my ECP today, I’m delighted with the changes. Scroll down for a clear and easy to use menu. This Priest so appreciates your app, especially on hospital calls. Well done, Church Publishing.
