Features & Capabilities

Venite.app is a bulletin creator and Daily Office prayer app rooted in the Anglican tradition of the Episcopal Church. It automatically generates bulletins for the Eucharist or Daily Office for any date, and lets you save favorite verses or prayers, plus an in-app meditation timer to help you pause and breathe.

Audio options let you listen to liturgy in multiple voices, with optional background tracks and Bluetooth/remote-control support. You can pray the Office, export bulletins to Word, and access Morning Prayer, Noonday, Evening Prayer, and Compline with Rite I/II, various psalters, and multiple Bible translations.

User Reviews

Venite.app is widely praised for its depth of customization and faithful alignment with Anglican/Episcopal practice, plus a polished, readable design. Users value the ability to tailor psalter cycles, lectionaries, and Holy Day options, generate bulletins for online services, and rely on a persistent login to keep preferences. The app excels at delivering a versatile Daily Office experience with strong content breadth and aesthetics. Reported drawbacks center on reliability and content controls: stability issues (loading errors, text not appearing, occasional hangs), limited ability to add/choose specific collects, and occasional liturgy labeling or content accuracy concerns. Updates can also be disruptive.
Pros
  • Highly customizable Daily Office with flexible lectionaries, psalter cycles, and Holy Day options.
  • Beautiful, clean UI that respects the BCP style and is easy to navigate.
  • Broad content coverage across the Daily Office with ready-to-use prayers and psalms.
  • Bulletin creation and sharing features streamline online/remote services.
  • Login-based persistence keeps preferences and settings consistent.
Cons
  • Stability and performance issues: loading errors, text not appearing, and occasional hangs.
  • Difficulty adding or selecting specific collects and prayers; limited collect customization.
  • Liturgy content labeling/accuracy issues (misnamed Collect, confessional intro, psalter display).
  • Disruptive update churn that can affect usage.

Provides a bevy of options uncommon to office apps- it’s really refreshing to be able to integrate Coverdale and the 1662 lectionary so naturally. The main issues are 1. The longer introduction to the confession in EP (at least in Rite I) is wrong- it doesn’t conform to the BCP text, instead copying the introduction used in MP. 2. There are no options which enable you to use specific collects and prayers for mission- much less to select additional prayers to add at the end (particularly the traditional prayers at the end of the Office would be appreciated). Without this option I can never use this for my daily office, because I pray the traditional two BCP collects in addition to the Collect of the Day.

Prayer for me is time away from my phone, but sometimes convenience reigns. Venite is the best of all Daily Office prayer apps out there.

Since the app has become filled with EOW nonsense options that reduces Jesus Christ to just some guy, I switched to using the Forward Movement browser version on their website which is much more streamlined and without the extra unnecessary and unbiblical stuff.
