The Tennessee app serves as a strong campus information hub with a convenient interface and useful transit features, offering quick access to news, emails, schedules, and events. However, reliability and navigation problems are common: crashes and login issues, and maps/transit that are harder to use since changes moved transit out of the app and reduced in-app mapping. Overall it’s valuable but needs stability and better map/transit integration.

Pros

Wealth of campus information and resources (news, emails, schedules, events) all in one app
Convenient, intuitive, and aesthetically pleasing user interface
Transit feature lets you locate buses on routes
Easy access to a variety of campus tools and materials in one place

Cons

Frequent crashes, timeouts, and problems staying logged in
Map/navigation issues: difficult to tell where you’re going, no compass, and confusing orientation
Transit map is no longer in-app and requires using a web browser or external app
Some links and features were removed or made less convenient in the update

Recent reviews

Pretty much the title. The maps function is nice except it’s impossible to tell where you’re going on the cartoonish drawing of a map, then if you set the waypoints and set navigation it simply draws a line rather than turning the map to the direction you’re facing. There is no compass on the map either, so good luck actually knowing which direction you’re going. Took 30 minutes to find my building today because I’ve never been to campus and for some reason half the physical buildings on campus have the same color lettering as the sign they’re on. Not really the apps fault but it certainly didn’t help in letting me know where I was.
