Features & Capabilities

Rivercast provides NOAA-backed river data and flood alerts for waterways that matter to boaters, paddlers, anglers, and nearby property owners. It shows river stage in feet, flow in CFS when available, and color-coded status (normal, rising, flooding) on an interactive map with gauges, current observations, and recent history. Premium users can receive custom push alerts, and NOAA forecasts are shown when available. The app includes an interactive map, search by waterway name, state, or NOAA 5-digit station ID, and pinch-to-zoom graphs.

Extras include marker-based reference levels, a favorites list for quick access, sharing of graphs, full dark mode, and Home Screen, Lock Screen, and StandBy mode widgets. Rivercast uses official NOAA data and may also include data from other agencies like USGS; some locations may be unavailable. Gauges are USA-only and data require an internet connection. This tool serves boaters, fishermen, property owners, paddlers, scientists, and marine professionals who need clear, reliable river information.

I fish at a spillway at a dam and this app is great knowing the water levels and the current coming out of the spillway. Too low, the fish can’t swim up. When too high, you can’t keep your bait in the water as the current is too fast for a 5 ounce weight.
