User Reviews

Poetics is praised for its simple, slick UI and the core idea of placing movable text on photos, yielding strong creative output for poetry and postcards. Reviewers repeatedly cite ease of use and a clean aesthetic, plus good integration into a photo-editing workflow. However, the app faces stability issues (crashes), strict word-length limits, forced cropping, and a lack of editing tools and community features. Some mention QA/maintenance concerns, while a few appreciate pricing changes and the postcard option. Overall, a niche, visually compelling tool with notable gaps.
Pros
  • Simple, slick user interface that is easy to use.
  • Powerful text-on-photo capability with flexible text placement (move/rotate in 360 degrees).
  • Strong creative potential for poetry, captions, and postcard-like outputs on photos.
  • Integrates well as a minimalist photo toolbox with a clean, high-quality UI.
  • Postcard sharing option adds a convenient output for sharing creations.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and instability, especially when tapping the text tool or sending postcards.
  • Severe word-length restrictions: only a few words per screen or per poem, making longer phrases tedious.
  • Forced image cropping / fixed aspect ratios that disrupt prior edits and sharing workflows.
  • Missing essential editing tools and customization: no paste, no syllable/rhyme tools, limited fonts, no community features.

I love this simple app. I thought it was gone because for some reason it wasn’t amongst my apps. Just by chance someone in our digital artist group used it and I said “what???” Love having it back and it remembered I had already downloaded the in-app purchase! Thanks for keeping this up.

Don’t waste your money. You can only write 3 words on a single screen. Scammers. Should be taken down from the App Store. Jerks scamming poets are the lowest humans
