User Reviews

User reviews show a basic-but-fragile app. The most mentioned cons are authentication/login struggles (Face ID issues, PIN resets, 2FA friction), frequent crashes and slow launches, and device/verification problems (registering new devices, codes not arriving). Regional users (notably in the US) report activation/login failures after updates. Feature coverage is seen as limited and not user-friendly vs. competitors, though some praise basic functionality and security, and a recent update added Apple Pay and card management. Support access is frequently criticized.
Pros
  • Performs basic banking tasks (view balance and send money) with ease.
  • Security is perceived as strong and user-friendly.
  • Recent update adds Apple Pay and card management features.
  • UI is reasonably usable and not overly cluttered.
Cons
  • Persistent login/access problems (Face ID failures, frequent login errors, PIN resets, account lockouts).
  • App instability: crashes, freezes, slow launches, and maintenance outages.
  • Device/verification problems (difficulty registering new devices, codes not arriving, 2FA friction).
  • Limited functionality and poor UX (clunky navigation, long transfer flows, missing budgeting/saving features, limited visibility of past payments).
  • Poor customer support access and regional restrictions (hard-to-reach support, forced upgrade; US users report activation/login barriers).

I’d say an AI web builder could build something smoother in about 45 seconds

The app does what it needs to, but the UX of it is bothersome and extraneous. I think this app would improve massively if it was designed similarly to how Revolut is. Revolut feels as smooth as going through social media, but still has all the necessary security measures. Simply sending money to someone is incrediblyyyy long, I have to check things multiple times when I already checked them moments ago. It’s just unnecessary. Lastly there could be so many more features introduced, like a saving pockets system similar to Revolut, an actual readable and intuitive metric to show your spending and etc.

Nothing is easy with boi. The app seems to be designed and maintained by developers who have been given no authority by the ceo to make life easy for customers. As is evident by the ratings the app gets.
