Features & Capabilities

My TimeBook is a mobile time-tracking app designed for waterfront workers, especially longshoremen. It lets you carry your time book on your phone, enter daily job events (shift, ship, location, job, hours, and notes), and keep track of hours worked. All data stays on the device with a built-in backup that saves a file and emails it to you.

The app automatically calculates check-in hours, actual worked hours, and earnings, and it can show hours and earnings by quarter, year-to-date, month, and week. It also offers a monthly view with holidays, a configuration panel for primary shift and Local, and local filtering of jobs. For users with less than 5000 hours, Career Hours tracking helps you keep your hours up. You can even make phone calls from TimeBook for Checking In and Job Counts. New installs include a 15-day trial, with yearly renewal at $4.99.

User Reviews

My TimeBook is praised as a convenient, easy-to-use replacement for paper time books and is used daily by longshoremen. Its strengths are quick input and centralized records at your fingertips. Common drawbacks center on ads and price increases, licensing/renewal confusion, pay calculation inaccuracies, and outdated job categories. Reliability concerns and lack of cloud syncing across devices also recur. Addressing pricing clarity, enabling ad-free licensing, updating job listings, fixing pay calculations, and adding cross-device sync would broaden appeal.
Pros
  • Replaces the physical Time Book and centralizes hours and job info for daily use.
  • Easy to use and intuitive interface, making input quick and straightforward.
  • Keeps everything at your fingertips, reducing the need to hunt for time cards.
  • Widely used and relied on by users every day; seen as essential.
  • Perceived good value for the features offered.
Cons
  • Ads and rising prices; constant annual fee increases and ads are a turn-off; users want an ad-free version.
  • Licensing/renewal issues and pricing confusion across devices (repurchase prompts and inconsistent pricing).
  • Pay calculation inaccuracies that differ from actual pay and wage totals.
  • Missing/outdated job categories and descriptions that don’t reflect real work (e.g., KDP).
  • Reliability issues and limited cross-device syncing; some users can’t save hours or access updates; cloud sync is lacking.
