User Reviews

Users praise Chess By Post for its clean design, long-running games, free access, and learning features like Plan Moves and Game Analysis, plus a sizable puzzle library. However, recurring concerns across reviews include bugs in moves and occasional crashes, reports of opponents using engines with inflated or unreliable ratings, weak customer support and difficulty muting abusive players, puzzles that are flawed or misgraded, and inconsistent move time controls that slow down gameplay. Overall it’s feature-rich and social, but stability, integrity, and moderation need attention.
Pros
  • Nicely designed UI that’s easy to start a game.
  • Plan Moves feature lets you simulate outcomes and learn.
  • Game Analysis uses a chess engine to evaluate moves.
  • Large library of puzzles and learning resources.
  • Cross-platform play, free access, and a solid ranking system.
Cons
  • Opponents cheating with engines/bots and inflated or unreliable Elo ratings.
  • Bugs in moves, misapplied rules (draws), and occasional crashes.
  • Poor support responsiveness and lack of effective abuse controls in chat.
  • Puzzles are flawed or misgraded; better moves sometimes marked incorrect.
  • Move time controls are inconsistent and slow down gameplay.

The Game decides for itself to award draws or stalemates. It’s neither a draw or stalemate when the opponent can no longer move. That’s a loss!!!!!
