User Reviews

Users value PulsePoint Respond for the informative, situational awareness it provides and its usefulness to EMS and families. However, multiple reviews report stability problems (crashes, downtime) and unreliable or excessive notifications. Additional complaints focus on readability issues due to UI color changes and OS-update quirks with slow or missing fixes. Overall, the app's informational benefits are clear, but reliability and user experience improvements are repeatedly requested to restore trust and consistent performance.
Pros
  • Very informative application that keeps users aware of incidents in their area.
  • Useful for EMS workers and family members to track ongoing calls and see who’s responding.
  • Provides location and unit information for incidents, offering valuable situational context.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and overall unreliability; the app often goes down or stops working for extended periods.
  • Inconsistent or excessive notifications, ranging from missed alerts to spammy alerts for a single incident.
  • UI/visual changes (e.g., white/light mode) reduce readability and contrast, leading to accessibility concerns.
  • OS update-related issues (such as not updating the current date) with little or no timely fixes.
Recent reviews
I think they should add a primary trained responder function so individuals that have or hold basic life support certification should be assigned as primary responders if there are multiple people with the app in the area. If there is no one in the area with that, then individuals without proper certification can be alerted

Anytime I hear a siren in town,I check PulsePoint to see what’s going on. It feels helpful to see if there’s an emergency that I should be prepared for or if it’s something else. There’s been small fires in my town that the bigger fire app didn’t show, but it was valuable to know that they were happening and where. Just in case they did end up being a threat to our town. Also helps knowing where the traffic collisions are, and any thing that would change how long it takes me to get to work or appointments.
