Features & Capabilities

Drumgenius is the first encyclopedia of drum grooves, offering 500 loops spanning Jazz to Rock. Each loop is played by masters and accompanied by concise descriptions and discography references. The build includes Metrogenius, the smart metronome with a clave option and swing regulator to dig into different rhythms.

Designed by a musician for musicians, it enables practice with a virtual master drummer, flexible tempo, and stretchable loops. Preview three loops for free, then download more via Credits in the Store (10, 50, or Infinite Credits). Infinite Credits unlocks all loops and future updates. Key features include a pitch bar, search by word or style, and loops labeled with C for claves.

User Reviews

Pros: engaging groove-based practice with a large, high-quality loop library and helpful features; strong usability and support. Cons: stability issues, purchase/download access problems, and an aging update cycle with fewer modern genres. Overall, a powerful practice tool for learning and jamming, but reliability and content-access concerns detract from its value.
Pros
  • Inspiring, groove-based practice with real drum loops that feel more engaging than a metronome.
  • A vast, high-quality library spanning many genres with clear groove references and drummer/recording context.
  • Helpful practice features such as tempo/pitch control, slow-down, and clave playback, plus a polished, user-friendly interface and responsive support.
  • Useful for learning, composing, and jamming with others, expanding rhythm vocabulary.
Cons
  • Stability issues: recurring crashes and playback failures (loops won’t play, crashes when changing tempo).
  • Content and purchase problems: difficulty accessing purchased packs, disappearing loops, or failed downloads/credit tracking.
  • UI/updates: aging UI and slow updates, with a desire for more modern genres.

This Drummond rhythm app is one of the most resourceful and inspiring applications that I’ve ever worked with plus the different histories from where the drum rhythms came from the different patterns. It’s quite informing thank you so very much. I’ve had this for a couple of years now and there’s so many tools as a songwriter that I can lean to… I was wondering if there are any new beats or do you have Amapiano that you might add one day other than that thank you very much for an awesome songwriting tool and these times where I use this live rehearsals and performances… Thanks.
