User Reviews

User reviews for Provident CU Mobile Banking on iOS are mixed. Many praise the app for a clear, organized interface and easy access to account information, and some say the transfers work when the app is functioning. However, repeated issues across reviews include severe slowness, frequent glitches and crashes, challenging login experiences (multi-factor codes, Face ID limitations), and maintenance notices. Key functional gaps cited are check deposit capture failures, fragile mobile deposit, and problems with Zelle/external transfers. Additional complaints include missing features (recurring payments, ebills) and transaction-history quirks (pending items, missing merchant names).
Pros
  • Clear, well-organized UI with quick access to account details.
  • Core banking features like transfers generally work when the app is functioning.
  • Positive sentiment about Provident as a trusted institution with good customer service.
  • App is useful for mobile access to account information and managing money on the go.
Cons
  • App is slow and unresponsive with long load times and hangs.
  • Frequent glitches and crashes, including login problems and multi-factor authentication friction (e.g., Code texts, Face ID limitations).
  • Check deposit/camera capture often fails or is unreliable; mobile check deposit is inconsistent.
  • Zelle/external transfers are slow or fail; transfers can be problematic.
  • Missing features like recurring payments and ebills, plus transaction-history issues (pending items not showing, missing merchant names).
Recent reviews
A bit primitive. Also when paying the credit card it does not distinguish clearly between the Minimum Payment, The Statement Balance, and the Total Balance. You have to pull a statement. Which in this era you should have a button for each option of payment. And with immaculate credit and cards with no limit and a credit score over 800 this is one of my oldest credit cards since 2015 and have never gotten a credit line increase. And it’s 2026. I just keep it for the history. I never use it any more because of the lack of trust.
