I’m visiting Paris from out of country and have never used the Navigo system. I accidentally bought the a reduced fare ticket via IDF app. It did not say anything about the restrictions on the ticket. I was approached by ticket enforcement transferring trains and told I had the wrong ticket. I offered to pay the fare difference but the agent said I could not proceed without paying €50 fine. I was late for an event so I was essentially coerced into paying the fine. I believe they use this to catch visitors and force them into paying the fine. Make sure you buy the correct ticket!!!😳😳😳 This would not happen on public transport in my city.

My mom downloaded and purchased a two day package. She received a confirmation email that payment went through and the app showed she had purchased the app tickets, but they would not download to her phone. Nobody was able to help us. We had to purchase the tickets again at the machine. We emailed customer service and have heard nothing back. It’s terrible! Also, to request a refund, you need an account. But you cannot create an account if your phone number is North American (although it does not say that…it only specifies Canada as a country not eligible).

First experience: I couldn’t even get started with this app: the account creation box was blocked from loading by their Cloudflare. Your server should be able to tell the difference between your own app and a ‘malicious bot’. Second experience, after getting on Wifi and getting a new IP address: Americans cannot use the app at all, because it requires a European mobile phone number. Useless. What a way to welcome visitors.
