User Reviews

PortSIP UC is generally praised as a reliable soft phone with easy server connections, background operation, and a privacy‑focused, ad‑free experience. Users highlight PBX compatibility and a dark theme. Common drawbacks include login reliability and UX issues, stability problems on newer iOS versions, call audio glitches, network/provider-specific connectivity bugs, and the lack of multiple SIP accounts.
Pros
  • Reliable soft phone for making and receiving calls and texts
  • Works in the background and stays connected even when the screen is locked
  • Ad-free experience with no high subscription costs
  • Privacy oriented design
  • Easy server/SIP connectivity with PBX compatibility (works with PortSIP PBX and other PBXs)
Cons
  • Login/sign-in reliability and UX issues (slow auto-login, sign-in/in-progress states, login/logout confusion)
  • Stability issues on newer iOS (crashes, startup hangs, or won't launch)
  • Call audio problems (intermittent audio loss or one-way audio, server errors)
  • Network/provider-specific connectivity issues (works on some networks but not others; issues with T-Mobile, US dialing)
  • Single SIP account limitation; requests for multiple accounts

Works great as a soft phone for VoIP.ms. I’ll see how it does in the long run.
