User Reviews

RecUp is praised for reliability, simple one‑tap recording, and reliable Dropbox backups with strong support and accessibility. Key drawbacks are Dropbox sign‑in friction, occasional recording/save glitches, and limited in‑app file management (no naming/listing/playback) plus no dedicated pause button. Some users also want AAC encoding for smaller files and upload progress indicators.
Pros
  • Reliable and stable app with long-term use and high‑quality recordings
  • Seamless Dropbox/cloud backup with automatic uploads
  • Simple, fast, one‑tap recording workflow that's easy to capture notes, ideas, or lectures
  • Strong support and ongoing updates, with accessibility support (VoiceOver)
  • Auto timestamped file naming for easy organization
Cons
  • Requires signing into Dropbox; login friction and may be annoying to set up
  • Occasional glitches where recordings are corrupted or unintelligible
  • Limited in‑app file management (no naming, listing, or playback) and no audio level meter
  • No dedicated pause button; double‑tap pause is unreliable
  • MP3 encoding by default; users would prefer AAC option for smaller file sizes

Insane that no other app does something as simple as record straight to Dropbox. Thank you!
