User Reviews

Reviewers praise LightSource for offering a wide, diverse library of sermons from many pastors and daily biblical content that supports study and inspiration. However, the app frequently struggles with reliability and playback, including glitches, crashes, AirPlay restarts, and programs cutting out. Account management is also problematic, with users reporting difficulty creating or deleting accounts and persistent login prompts. Users also cite navigation and UX issues, such as cumbersome transitions between clips and full messages and a tendency to deliver only fragments. Notifications and badges can be excessive. Overall, content value exists but stability and usability need fixes.
Pros
  • Extensive library of sermons/preachers from around the country.
  • Daily devotional content and expository Bible teachings that encourage study.
  • Accessible anytime to listen to sermons, even when church attendance is limited.
  • Powerful, uplifting messages that many users find inspiring.
Cons
  • Playback reliability issues: glitches, crashes, and AirPlay restarts.
  • Account management problems: difficulty creating or deleting accounts and persistent login prompts.
  • UI/UX navigation and playback controls: cumbersome transitions between clips and full messages, forced intros, and needing to add to a playlist before listening.
  • Content is fragmented: some programs are only short clips rather than full sermons.
  • Notification/badge annoyance: excessive or persistent push notices.

Constantly restarting on Apple AirPlay every time the screen goes black — kiss it goodbye… You’ll be 4 or 5 minutes into an episode and it will just start over from the beginning, and if you use another app or log out of this app it ask you to create an account as if you haven’t done it ten times already… So… with that said— might be good for someone else but from my experience this is by far the most unreliable app I’ve used on this iPhone to date… By the way— What on earth is the point of making a user of your app follow a show just so I can view their next episode??? Absolutely ridiculous and makes no sense, especially when certain shows you only have 3 videos posted anyway… You might as well just add commercials and click bait while your at it… Good grief…
