User Reviews

Users praise iSmoothRun for its flexibility, customizable workouts, audio cues, and long-term data history, with solid cross-device functionality. However, widespread bugs and freezing, especially after OS updates, data losses, and unreliable recordings undermine reliability. Support is often seen as unresponsive, and update cadence lags behind OS changes. The subscription is viewed by many as overpriced given stability issues. Additionally, syncing with training platforms and external devices is frequently inconsistent. Overall it’s appealing when it works but is widely regarded as unstable and poorly supported.
Pros
  • High flexibility and customization of workouts and intervals
  • Useful audio cues and pacing feedback when the app is functioning
  • Long-term data history and easy access to past runs/logs
  • Cross-device usability with iPhone and Apple Watch, including offline use
  • Valued base (free) features and overall capability even before subscribing
Cons
  • Frequent bugs and instability: freezes, crashes, and missed recordings
  • Compatibility issues after iOS/watchOS updates; app not kept up with latest OS versions
  • Poor or unresponsive customer support and lack of issue responses
  • Subscription price viewed as overpriced relative to reliability and updates
  • Sync/integration problems with external platforms (Final Surge, Training Peaks, Garmin) and data transfer inconsistencies

I really like the app and flexibility. However, it is often buggy. For instance, I just upgraded to an ultra and now I cannot end workouts. The app gets stuck on a screen but you cannot swipe to end the workout.

Used to be my go-to app for most activities and loved so much about it, but I finally cancelled my subscription because the app isn’t keeping up with iOS updates. Constantly need to restart watch or phone to get a proper and inconsistently reliable connection. HR capture variable. Just a struggle. Would love to return to the app but can’t trust it anymore.

Was a great app and when it works it still is but I run with an Apple Watch and now every run the app freezes and workouts aren’t recorded. It’s incredibly unfortunate since it was such a good app and now I can’t even use it. On the odd occasion it does work it still records everything and is excellent but it’s is always a risk so I barely use it anymore.
