User Reviews

Users largely praise the app for providing a free download with a 14‑day trial, full print‑edition content, offline access, and lower digital pricing compared with the paper edition. However, recurring concerns center on stability after updates (crashes, sign‑in failures, startup issues) and download problems, plus strong pricing objections from many users who view $9.99/month as too expensive. Sharing is limited to a few platforms, and several reviews question the perceived value or clarity of the free/download model. Overall, strong content value marred by reliability and pricing issues.
Pros
  • Free to download with a 14‑day trial subscription
  • Full digital edition mirrors the print newspaper content (local news, editorials, obituaries, job openings, ads, etc.)
  • Cheaper than the print edition (digital edition priced lower; example: 14 pesos vs 20 pesos per issue)
  • Offline reading once downloaded (content available offline for commuting or offline use)
  • No obligation to continue after the trial and overall value proposition for some users
Cons
  • Stability issues after updates (crashes, won’t start, sign-in problems)
  • Downloading/catalog issues (downloading catalog stalls or does not complete)
  • Perceived high subscription price/poor value (many say $9.99/month is too expensive)
• Limited sharing options (only Facebook, Twitter, and email; lack of broader sharing/open-in-browser)
  • Mixed reception on value/consumers feel it’s not worth the cost or is deceptive about being free beyond download

It's such an expensive service you would think they would be able to allow the iOS sharing that includes more than Facebook, Twitter and email. At the very least an "open in browser" function so that we can use the sharing capabilities of our browser.

It does not work after the update. It keeps on crashing and it does not even allow me to sign in using my registered account. I'm giving this a 1 star since this time this apps is USELESS.
