User Reviews

Overall, users appreciate KMEye for being free, easy to set up, and reliable on a local network, especially with Zmodo cameras. However, multiple reviews cite persistent remote viewing failures outside the home, frequent crashes after updates, and compatibility issues with newer iOS versions. Support is often unresponsive, and some updates introduce ads that harm usability. In short, strong value and local-use reliability are balanced by recurring remote-access problems and update-driven instability.
Pros
  • Free / low-cost app with good value.
  • Easy to set up, especially for Zmodo camera systems.
  • Works reliably on a local network (Wi‑Fi).
  • Generally dependable compared to the free version (KMEye Free).
Cons
  • Remote viewing fails when not on the same network (cellular/LTE), limiting remote access.
  • Stability problems: frequent crashes and inconsistent playback after updates.
  • Compatibility issues with newer iOS versions and devices (e.g., iOS 11.x, iPhone updates).
  • Poor or unresponsive customer support.
  • Ads in the UI and other changes in updates degrade usability.

This works fine when you’re at the site connected to the same network as the cameras. However when you are not connected to the same WiFi, like when u leave ur home, there is no way to connect to the surveillance to watch your place when you’re not there. They only have a support email, which no one ever responds.

With the launch of the new iPhone came the crash of this app. The app no longer works and consistently crashes. It cannot connect to my cameras and when I try to switch from one camera to another it exits the app. Someone needs to fix this ASAP.
