User Reviews

Users praise Jump Rope Workout for accurate counting, history tracking, a simple interface, and METs/calorie insights, and note that it is free. However, repeated issues include intrusive ads, lack of background tracking, inconsistent counting across jump styles, limited history data, and compatibility problems after iOS updates. Many also request better Watch/HealthKit integration for a smoother experience.
Pros
  • Accurate jump counting with a useful history that shows progress over time.
  • Simple, uncluttered interface with no unnecessary features.
  • METs and calorie insights help gauge workout intensity.
  • Free to use and generally helpful as a training tool.
Cons
  • Ads interrupt workouts and disrupt counting; users want an ad-free paid option.
  • No background tracking or screen-lock support, causing counts to be lost or incomplete.
  • Counting isn’t consistently accurate across different jump styles.
  • History data is limited: no precise start/end times and data can be lost if the device dies.
  • iOS updates can break functionality, including leaderboard display.

Love the app. The problem, with the iOS9 update on my iPhone, there are NO NUMBERS being displayed in the “Leaderboard.” It still counts my actual workout but displays NOTHING on the “Leaderboard.” :(

I love this app so much. I just wish they would update it. Keep all the same features but update viewing your history and sharing with others. I LOVE that it doesn’t have all the extra junk other jump rope apps have. It’s perfect. Just want to see a little more work out into it. Polish it up a bit. I’ll never use another jump rope app though.

I have been using this app for 2 months now and I am happy with it and the progress I have made. I started doing jump rope some 6 months ago and it wasn’t easy to do self-count. With the app I have seen myself progress in speed and endurance. I am challenged to outdo my previous workouts so am steadily improving. From 70 jumps 6 months ago to 3000 pumps in 20 minutes now. The counts are accurate for me. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to progress in their jump rope exercises. The only thing I can ask the developers to work on is the interface. Make it more attractive. And the history page too. It’s kind of boring, like some ancient data on an old computer.
