User Reviews

User reviews consistently highlight reliability and performance problems. The top frustrations include the app being slow to open, laggy or freezing, frequent sign-in errors and account lockouts, and difficulty connecting to the alarm panel and camera feeds. There are outages lasting days or weeks and reports that back-end issues affect access when users are away. Some users note missing essential features in the Pulse app (Arm Night, Fire/Panic) and insufficient customer support. Overall, the app's remote-control benefits exist, but are outweighed by frequent connectivity failures and usability problems.
Pros
  • Remote arm/disarm of the security system via the app.
  • Scheduling automation for turning the system on/off.
  • Remote access for basic system monitoring away from home.
Cons
  • App is slow to open, laggy, or freezes, making it hard to use when you need it.
  • Frequent login/authentication problems: incorrect passwords prompts, account lockouts, and password reset failures.
  • Inconsistent connection to the alarm panel and camera feeds; live view loads slowly or not at all.
  • Regular outages/back-end issues causing downtime for days or weeks.
  • Missing essential features in the Pulse app (e.g., Arm Night, Emergency Fire/Panic) compared to the panel.

The ADT Pulse app is extremely slow to open and load. Even when I'm in the basement, it's faster to walk upstairs and use the keypad than wait for the app. When I come in through the garage, I open the app to disarm the system, but it takes so long to connect that I end up using the key fob instead. At this point, the app isn't useful because it's too slow to be practical.

When I try to arm my alarm, the shield is still green after it is armed at the panel. It does not turn red to alert me that it’s armed. I have to go to the panel to confirm it switched over from my phone request.
