Features & Capabilities

Dungeons & Such is a simple, nostalgic dungeon RPG originally built for iOS, crafted primarily by a single indie developer with strong community support. It blends classic choose-your-adventure dungeon exploration with modern touches: asynchronous multiplayer, guilds, faction wars, crafting, and character evolution. Features like VoiceOver and text-to-speech make it accessible on mobile, and the game emphasizes one-handed play and replay value.

Key features include hiring other players to form a party, building and upgrading a house, forging weapons and armor, collecting monsters as minions, Game Center support, and a seasonal faction war system. The story follows a kidnapped princess on Eunaba island as you become a mercenary and dive into the dungeon to save her.

User Reviews

Dungeons & Such is praised for its accessibility and enduring support, with a classic turn-based RPG feel. Reviewers highlight strong VoiceOver compatibility and ongoing updates. Common drawbacks include cloud save and iCloud syncing issues, minion visibility bugs, occasional crashes, and conflicts between VoiceOver and the TTS system. Despite these, the game remains a well-regarded, accessible dungeon crawler with potential for more content and refinements as the developer continues to support it.
Pros
  • Excellent VoiceOver accessibility with a labeled UI and VO reading all in-game text.
  • Long-term support and frequent updates from the developer across years.
  • Engaging, classic dungeon-crawler RPG with turn-based combat and flexible play style (casual or challenging).
  • Clear audio cues and labeling that aid navigation and understanding, with support for text-to-speech options.
Cons
  • Cloud save / iCloud save issues causing unsynced or lost progress across devices.
  • Minion visibility and management bugs (minions disappearing or not appearing/selectable).
  • Occasional crashes and stability problems that interrupt play and risk progress loss.
  • Accessibility feature conflicts: VoiceOver and the new text-to-speech system can clash, causing interruptions or less ideal narration.

I downloaded this on accident and it sat for months, I forgot what it was, so I opened it. I thought I would at least give it a few minutes before I deleted it, and found myself 2 hours later really enjoying it *Ribbit* !!

It’s kind of addictive I thought it was going to be kind of boring but I was wrong. The more you play the more things and opportunities open to do. The only thing I would fix is the ability to drop items for better ones.
