User Reviews

Users largely find the app entertaining and somewhat helpful for learning British slang, but common complaints include the lack of search, intrusive ads, a randomly ordered and limited word list, and questions about how representative the slang is.
Pros
  • Entertaining quiz-style format for learning British slang, which many users enjoyed.
  • Helpful for non-British users to understand UK English and slang in media (BBC/TV shows).
  • Quizzing friends or family on slang terms is a popular use case among reviewers.
  • Entries present slang terms with brief definitions, making quick, bite-sized learning possible.
Cons
  • No search function to look up specific words; users repeatedly report missing search capability.
  • Intrusive ads/pop-ups, with unclear or undisclosed costs to remove them.
  • Words are presented in random order without clear organization, making navigation difficult.
  • Small, limited vocabulary that does not cover the breadth of British slang; not very comprehensive.

I’m now learning how to use a Cockney accent, especially when I’m speaking the King’s (or The Queen’s) English, or United Kingdom English, to sound just like an Afro-British American royal, who just happened 2 be born in North Philadelphia, but I had 2 move from Southwest Philadelphia to Delaware County, to Collingdale, Pennsylvania, 19023, @101 Pusey Avenue! It’s a bleeding but smashing idea for me 2 become an interpreter for the United Nations (UN), and I hope that I can really recommend this to my family and friends who are interested in getting this app, anyways! I can learn 2 say, “You’re the one who has been riding the bloody crazy train, but I’m the Black Prince of Darkness ever since I was born on October 21st, 1984! You bleeding idiot!!!” “The name’s Bond. Flames Bond!” And so on and so forth, you bloody bloke!!!

Did I miss something?…I tapped everywhere and could not find a search box. Forced to scroll endlessly using arrows. Absolutely cannot recommend…but bravo to the developer for finding a clever way to get a Brit fan to spend USD $2.99. Me the dummy, but you the fraudster

I’m an American who watches a lot of British shows on tv, and I may misunderstand the plots if I don’t have immediate access to English slang while watching the broadcasts. Thank you.
