User Reviews

Reviewers consistently praise CLZ Movies for fast barcode scanning, a clean, user-friendly interface, robust organization options, strong support, and solid value with broad database coverage and cross-platform use. However, metadata editing for box sets and editions is not as intuitive as users would like, with some fields missing and manual edits needed. A few titles require manual entry, and TV shows can present duplicate handling challenges. Overall, it’s highly recommended for serious collectors who want a capable, scalable cataloging solution.
Pros
  • Barcode scanning makes adding titles quick and easy.
  • Very user-friendly, intuitive interface and smooth navigation.
  • Powerful organization features: multiple catalogs, location fields, and customizable data views.
  • Excellent, responsive support team with quick follow-up.
  • Strong title database with broad coverage and cross-platform access (mobile app and web), offering good value.
Cons
  • Box-set and edition metadata editing is not intuitive and often incomplete (missing HDR types and edition dates; requires manual edits).
  • Some titles are not in the database and must be added manually via IMDb or manual entry.
  • TV show seasons can be misclassified or treated as duplicates, making series metadata harder to manage.

For over a decade, my DVD collection has grown into a sprawling library of over 200 titles, and for just as long, I have struggled with the monumental task of organizing them. Keeping an expansive collection in strict alphabetical order felt like a daunting, never-ending chore that usually left my shelves in a state of chaotic disarray. I spent countless hours searching for a practical solution, frustrated by the lack of an efficient system—until I finally discovered a game-changing app last week that has completely transformed my hobby. The process is incredibly intuitive; I simply scan the barcode, and the app catalogs everything instantly. Now, not only can I retrieve any movie in my collection in seconds, but if I ever decide to trim down my selection, the resale process is just as seamless. It has turned a stressful logistical burden into a streamlined delight, and I honestly don't know how I managed my collection without it.

I’ve used CLZ Books for years and recently started using CLZ Movies too. I had been using DVD Profiler for a long time, but moving my collection of about 800 movies into CLZ Movies only took around five minutes. The web and app interfaces are fast, easy to use, and makes it simple to browse my collection when I’m looking for something to watch again. I also really like that the CLZ apps have a consistent feel across books, movies, music, and more, so it’s easy to get up and running with a new collection
