2nd time reserving through Avis at this airport. Only to arrive at the Avis desk to find a sold out sign and no one at the desk. Was charged $150 to cancel reservation. Avis just lost a customer today!

Same problem every single time I rent from Avis I’ve rented from Avis multiple times, and unfortunately, every single pickup experience has ended the same way. When I arrive to pick up my vehicle, I try to use the Avis app to complete the pickup process, and I consistently get a “Server Error — Request failed with status code 500.” At this point, I already know what’s going to happen: I have to go stand at the rental counter and have an employee complete the process for me. The frustrating part is that the app clearly recognizes my reservation and even displays the vehicle information, but when it’s time to actually complete the pickup, it fails. This completely defeats the purpose of having a mobile pickup experience. I understand that technical problems happen occasionally, but this has happened to me on every Avis rental I’ve had. After experiencing the same issue repeatedly, it feels like Avis has a fundamental problem with its mobile pickup system that hasn’t been addressed. Avis needs to fix this. If you’re going to advertise a convenient mobile pickup experience, the customer shouldn’t have to go to the counter every single time because the app can’t complete the process. I like renting from Avis, but having to deal with this every time is incredibly frustrating.
