User Reviews

Review consensus portrays iNet Pro as a powerful, feature-rich network scanner with reliable Wake-on-LAN and straightforward device discovery. Users praise breadth of tools, ongoing updates, and value. Recurrent drawbacks include privacy concerns and mandatory location data, limited access to MAC addresses due to platform restrictions, lack of an iPad app, and a UI/dark mode experience that feels dated or inconsistent. Overall it’s a strong tool for network professionals, but privacy, platform scope, and UI considerations may affect adoption for some users.

  • Easy to identify devices and rename them; intuitive, user-friendly UI.
  • Good value for money given the feature set.
Cons
  • Privacy concerns and perceived data transmission to servers; questions about data handling.
  • Location permissions are required to scan, effectively making location data mandatory.
  • MAC addresses visibility is restricted by Apple, so MAC info is not accessible.
  • No iPad app support; lacks an iPad version.
  • UI and dark mode experience can feel dated or inconsistent across updates.

My MacOS version is having real difficulty finding ALL the devices actually on my local home WiFi. The router reports 18 total attached devices but iNet reports 9-13. We have 2 ALEXA, iNet only detects one. I am using a Privacy Hero II router.
