iStates (and iCapitals) is an education and fun game which helps children and adults learn their states and capitals with help from the iPhone.

A map of the United States is shown and by selecting a state you are asked to select both the correct name of the state and the capital. As you correctly answer the states a smiley is placed on the map and the name of the state and capital is removed from the selection list. If the state is selected after the correct name and capital is answered, a list of facts about that state is shown.

When all states have been answered correctly, your score is presented (number of incorrect answers). If you get all the states correct with no mistakes, you are presented with the ability to add you name to the Winners List which every user of the game can see under preferences

This is great learning fun for the whole family. Great fun and educational as well as good to pass the time on a long trip or any other time when you have a few minutes to spare. The set of states correctly answered is retained between sessions so you never have to worry about loosing your place.
