User Reviews

uCentral is repeatedly praised as a comprehensive, up-to-date, all-in-one medical resource with easy-to-use, mobile-friendly access. Users highlight authoritative content (Hopkins ABX Guide, Harriet Lane, Davis Drug Guide), quick references, calculators, and 5-minute consults that support rounds and nursing/medical education. Common caveats include occasional stability problems after updates and search-related performance issues, gaps in content for certain medications or tests, and occasional login or access hurdles.
Pros
  • Comprehensive, breadth of information from multiple sources with up-to-date content.
  • High-quality, authoritative content and tools (Hopkins ABX Guide, Harriet Lane, Davis Drug Guide) plus quick references, calculators, and 5-minute consults.
  • Easy to use and quick access for rounds; mobile-friendly and handy at work.
  • Useful for a wide audience across nursing and medical education and clinical practice.
Cons
  • Stability and performance issues: app crashes and unreliable updates affecting search.

  • Access/login issues: difficulties logging in or institutions not listed or available.
Recent reviews
I have used uCentral provided to me through the Yale School of Medicine library for many years now. It is an extraordinary resource for ALL clinicians, medical residents and students in their clinical years. In addition to the various apps used as sources of reference, I love that it provides me with up to date information from a number of medical journals which I have the luxury of selecting myself. Truly extraordinary! My advice to physicians, residents and medical students in their clinical years is rather similar to the old advertisement for the American Express Card: “Don’t leave home without it.
